Police: Manila North Cemetery crowd peaks at 1.9 M


A record-breaking crowd of visitors at the Manila North Cemetery showed up as they remember their dearly departed on Sunday.
At 3 p.m., Manila Police estimated that 1.8 million people visited their loved ones buried at the said cemetery.
An hour later, the number increased to 1.9 million.
As the day neared its end, the crowd has since dwindled. At 7 p.m., authorities set the crowd estimate at 150,000.
Police Senior Insp. Melchor Villar said that the number smashed last year’s record of 1.7 million people who visited the cemetery.
